Sustainability

Named one of the top 10 geotourism destinations in the world by National Geographic, Evergreen Brick Works is a Canadian National Historic Site where nature meets innovation in the heart of an urban centre.

Evergreen encourages and supports event organizers to make sustainable and green choices in the planning and execution of their events.

Catering

Evergreen Brick Works has taken great care in selecting its list of approved caterers. Our caterers are chosen for their experience and understanding of diverse menus ranging from local fare to ethnic cuisine. Work with your approved supplier to establish a seasonal, locally sourced menu. Lowering your carbon footprint, supporting your community and offering the best quality food to your guests, is appreciated. We encourage you to ensure you make arrangements with a local food shelter or mission, or through your approved caterer, for all untouched prepared food.

Please contact the caterers directly to receive a customized proposal for your upcoming event.

Transportation and Parking

Evergreen encourages all users of the site to use public and alternative means of transportation to the site. For your event:

  • Consider a shuttle service to and from the site. Large-scale events may necessitate the use of a shuttle bus from the nearest subway stations.
  • Help arrange carpooling and shared taxis.
  • Encourage the use of hybrid and fuel efficient vehicles, as well as multi-occupancy vehicles through preferred parking spaces, preferred fees or other incentives.

Evergreen Brick Works has pay-per-use parking spots for up to 300+ vehicles but other users may reduce the number of parking spots available for your event.

Wedding Program

The Evergreen Wedding Program is a way for couples to mark their commitment to each other and to the environment.

When you choose to participate in the Evergreen Wedding Program, you are supporting urban sustainability by connecting people with nature and inspiring your guests to follow you along a greener path.
