Presenter: Not Far From The Tree
Learn how to preserve the fruits from your own garden, balcony or patch of green! Not Far From The Tree co-ordinates a local fruit-picking program, harvesting the bounty of fruit from residential yards that would otherwise go to waste, and shares it with the homeowner, the volunteers, and with local social service agencies and food banks in the neighbourhood. Learn more about this innovative organization and hear stories of Toronto’s urban orchard. Some hands on how to advice on how to preserve fruit will follow, with a fruit canning demonstration.
$15 workshop fee applicable. All ages welcome!
