Join us for an intimate afternoon in the valley with children’s author and illustrator, Barbara Reid.
Barbara will be reading from her book Picture a Tree, bringing us into her colourful world, followed by a book signing—so bring your favourite books for an autograph! Books will also be available for sale.
Be sure to stop by The Art of Barbara Reid, an exhibit of small works from Picture a Tree, on display in the Young Welcome Centre from April 17 to May 21, 2012.
Barbara Reid has written and illustrated more than twenty-five picture books that have been published in over a dozen countries. Her signature plasticine relief illustrations have won numerous awards including the Governor General’s Award for Illustration, the Amelia Frances Howard Gibbon Award and the IBBY International Honour List. In January 2012 Barbara was appointed to the Order of Ontario.
